Interactive session for parents of classes IX & X

Delhi Public School Indirapuram organized an interactive session for the parents of classes IX & X on 19^th July 2018, in order to acquaint them with the latest curriculum, methodology of teaching and pattern of assessment as per the guidelines provided by the CBSE.

The school Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai welcomed the parents and stressed on the importance of such sessions to gain clarity and insight into the academic pattern and related developments at school. Speaking highly of the school’s repute and status, she emphasized on how the school has always strived to maintain a balance between academics and co-curricular activities, achieving laurels in both fields by encouraging the children to display their inherent passion. She further urged the parents to spend quality time with their children and monitor their progress at every step, realizing how crucial the Senior Secondary level was and the perseverance and diligence required to sustain it.

The school Headmistress, Ms. Priya John familiarized the parents with the remodeled assessment structure, emphasizing on the weightage allocated for internal exams and the final board examinations she explained the importance of the periodic tests and the half yearly exam, which would play a vital role in enhancing the overall academic achievement of the students.

The senior school Academic Coordinator, Ms. Ritu Pant gave an extensive presentation on the latest pattern defined by CBSE for classes IX & X. explaining in detail each and every component in the assessment pattern she gave a thorough insight into the manner of internal assessment which would be based in periodic tests, note book submission and subject enrichment activities.

She also shed light on the importance of co-scholastic activities, the five point grading scheme for both co-scholastics and academics and the relevance of the discipline grades.

The session ended with a number of queries posed by the parents which were answered satisfactorily. The session was a wonderful platform to acquaint the parents with the latest methodology and pedagogical practices and give them an insight into the changes in the academic pattern. It also provided a great opportunity for the school to work hand in hand with the parents towards the common goal of excellence in academics.
