On Tuesday, 20^th August 2019, the students of class IV of DPS Indirapuram, presented with immense patriotic fervor, the raga of Independence.

The school Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Hajela along with the Vice Principal Priya John graced the occasion with their distinguished presence.  The Principal accorded a warm welcome to the parents who also gathered to witness the show ‘Dastan-e-Azaadi’.

The celebratory event began with patriotic songs mellifluously rendered by the school choir followed by a beautifully choreographed dance to the tune of Vandemataram.  The mesmerizing songs and dances were a befitting tribute to all the martyrs and instilled in all a great pride for the motherland.

The presentation ‘Dastan-e-Azaadi’, staged thereafter, as a part of the ISA project, showcased significant events of courage, valour and sacrifice of the freedom fighters under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi.  The stalwart leader’s ideology based on non-violence and non-cooperation came alive through the depiction of the Non-Cooperation Movement, the Dandi March and the Quit India movement.  The heart wrenching incidents of Jalianwala Bagh, Chauri-Chaura and Kakori exhibited the indomitable spirit of our freedom fighters.  The curtains came down with the beautiful song ‘Ye duniya Jaan Le Hamein Pehchaan Le’ and the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Headmistress, Ms. Eram Abedi.
