REPORT ON GERMAN DEPARTMENT

Ever since the School started in 2003, we have been actively participating and celebrating functions organized by DPS, Society and Max Mueller Bhavan.

  • German Day was celebrated in DPS Indirapuram on 25th January, 2005.
  • Max Mueller Bhavan in collaboration with DPS Society organized a scholarship Programme for German language teachers of DPS, in which Mrs. Kaumudi Joshi went to Schwäbischhall, Germany for 2 months in 2006 to attend a German language course.
  • In the year 2006 Max Mueller Bhavan & DPS Society had conceived a vision of starting ‘Indo-German Students’ Exchange Programme’ to foster the bond between the two countries.
    The Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi played a pivotal role and organized a meeting of a high-powered delegation of 11 educationists of Germany headed by Dr. MargetRuep, School President, Baden Württermberg, with Delhi Public School Society. This delegation from Germany stayed in India from 31st October to 12th November 2006 and was hosted by Delhi Public School Indirapuram. During their 12 days stay the delegation visited various schools in Delhi & the NCR, critically observing, analyzing and assimilating our system of education. They were particularly appreciative of DPS Indirapuram, the school Management, the Principal and the school set-up. Thus was laid the foundation of Indo-German Students Exchange Programme between DPS Indirapuram and Schloss Real Schule Gaildorf Germany. Since then, there has been no looking back and we have had 9 successful Exchange Programmes, involving 158 students and 27 teachers.
  • Our School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai visited Germany as a part of German Delegation from 7th to 14th June 2008. The aim of the visit was to familiarize delegates with the German Education System as also to give opportunity to the Principals to visit schools in Germany who already have exchange programs with their respective schools. It also gave opportunity to the school Principals to find exchange partners from the premier schools in Germany.
  • Our School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai also attended the First Principals’ Conference in South Asia in Colombo on ‘Schools: Partners for the Future: a program launched in response to an initiative by the German Foreign Minister, coordinated by the Foreign Office and Goethe Institute (Centre for Overseas Schooling) in January 2009.

 

YOUTH CAMPS

Our students have regularly participated in the youth camps organized by Max Müller Bhavan since 2009.

  • Arastoo Joshi was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp at St. Peter Ording, Germany in August 2015 on a fully paid scholarship.
  • Mahika Vajpeyi was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp at St. Peter's Ording, Germany 24th May 2015 to 13th June 2015 organised by Max Mueller Bhawan.
  • Ayush Garg was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp at St. Peter's Ording, Germany (3rd August 2014 to 16th August 2014) organised by Max Mueller Bhawan
  • Shobhit Jain student of class XI was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp organized by Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan from 21st July to 4th August, 2013 at Schwäbischhal, Germany.
  • Sneha Arora attended an International Youth Camp from 7th July 2013 to 27th July 2013 at Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Seven students of class IX attended a Youth Camp at TERI Resort near Faridabad from 28th June to 2nd July, 2013.
  • Kalika Maheshwari of class X attended an International Youth Camp from 4th May 2013 to 25th May, 2013 at St. Ordings near Hamburg, Germany.
  • A Youth Camp was organized in Jaipur by Max Mueller Bhavan for the toppers of Fit 1 and Fit 2 exams. Ms. MahikaVajpaye was selected to participate in this camp. Our German language teacher Ms. Kaumudi Joshi was also a part of this prestigious youth camp.
  • Devansh Mittal of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 4th August 2012 to 19th August 2012 at Dassel, Germany.
  • Trishi Kamboj of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 4th July 2010 to 24th July 2010 at Beielefeld, Germany.
  • Naman Jain and Rohan Kapoor of class X attended a Youth Camp from 21st June 2010 to 27th June 2010 in Kerala.
  • Aditya Dhingra and Arbaaz Nadim of class IX attended a Youth Camp from 22nd May 2010 to 28th May 2010 in Kerala.
  • Rohan Katyal of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 8th August 2009 to 12th August 2009 in Bangkok.
  • Neelesh Kumar Chaudhary of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 24th April 2009 to 3rd May 2009 in Himachal Pradesh.

Achievements of the German Department

  • Our School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai attended the PASCH Principal’s Conference South Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21st January to 24th January 2016.
  • Vardaan Suri and Devesh Gogia was selected to attend the German Language classes organized by Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan from 19th May 2013 to 15th June 2013 in Bangalore to prepare for higher studies in Germany. As a result both the above students are doing Mechanical Engineering from Leibniz University, Hannover.
  • DPS Indirapuram hosted a play ‘Keep Calm and #ashtag’ sponsored by Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi on Tuesday, 4th August 2015 in the school auditorium.
  • Ms. Kaumudi Joshi &Ms. Prerna Sharma attended an International PASCH conference for the German language teachers on 9th& 10th October 2015.
  • Areeba Abrar, Anshika Batra and Ananya Tiwari got third prize in Graffiti Competition organized by Max Mueller Bhavan (Namaste Deutschland 2015).
  • Rishi Maheshwari of class VIII got first prize in the Poetry Recitation Competition organized by Max Mueller Bhavan (Namaste Deutschland 2014).
  • From 21st December 2013 to 28th December 2013, our German language teacher Ms. Kaumudi Joshi went to Sri Lanka to attend an International youth camp organized by Goethe Institute Colombo.
  • Pritika Vajpeyi of class IV- A got 2nd prize in the Inter School Character Dramatization Competition held at DPS Faridabad on 30th August 2013.
  • The Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan organized a German Film Festival on 15th April 2013 in our school auditorium.
  • An International online quiz was organized by DPS Society and Max Mueller Bhavan in November 2012. Over 4000 students from different schools from various countries registered for this quiz. Out of 150 students, who made to the final merit list 6 students of DPS Indirapuram (out of 17 registered) were the proud recipients of the honour. To add another feather to our glorious cap, our 5 students were amongst the top 20 students.
  • Ms. Kaumudi Joshi, our German language teacher went to Japan to attend a Youth Camp organized by Goethe Institute Tokyo, from 25th March 2012 to 2nd April 2012.
  • An International online quiz was organized by DPS Society and Max Mueller Bhavan in January 2012. Over 2000 students from various schools from five countries registered for the quiz. 11 students from DPS Indirapuram made it to the final merit list. Our student Devesh Gogia was amongst the top 10 students amongst the meritorious top 150. This outstanding achievement won him a place in the five days youth camp. These students also got the opportunity to witness ‘Audi-football Summit’ between India and Bayern Muenchen held on 10th January 2012.
  • Our school team had also participated in ‘Greening with Goethe’ on a project on uprooting a parasitic plant’s infestation around the school in 2011. The school’s efforts were lauded internationally and it received Commendation Award from UNESCO, for the contribution towards ‘The Decade of Education for Sustainable Development’.

 

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Russian Centre of Science and Culture organized “Days of Russian language Literature and Culture on February 4th, 2016 devoted to the year of cinematography in Russia. Our children participated in Translation Competition, Quiz on Russian Culture and Poetry Recitation Competition. Our School won 3rd Prize in Poetry Recitation Competition.

DPS society organized Annual Inter school “Festival Beryoza 2015” on 20th Nov 2015. DPS Indirapuram also participated in various competitive and non-competitive events.

We won: 2nd position in Russian Duet Song Competition.

  • 2nd position in Russian Language Olympiad.
  • 2nd position in Choral Poetry Recitation Competition.
  • 2nd position in Essay Writing Competition.
  • 2nd position in Poster Making Competition (Senior category).
  • 3rd position in Poster making Competition (Junior Category).

          DPS society organized Annual Inter school “Festival Beryoza 2014”. This event was hosted by DPS Dwarka on           19th Nov’14. DPS Indirapuram won:

  • 1st position in Poetry Recitation Competition.
  • 1st position in Russian Group Song Competition.
  • 3rd position in Russian Painting Competition.
  • 3rd position in Russian Art Competition.

          To showcase the language skills of students and explore the Russian culture, the Delhi Public School Society organized Annual International School Russian Language Festival Beryoza 2013” on 3rd October 2013. DPS Indirapuram won:

  • 2nd Runner’s up Trophy in Russian Poetry Recitation Competition.
  • 1st runner’s up Trophy in Perevod (Translation) Competition.
  • Russian Centre of Science and Culture organized “Days of Russian language & literature” from Feb 19th to 20th 2014. DPS Indirapuram won Ist position in Quiz on Russian Language.
  • An Annual Interschool Russian Language Festival was organized by DPS Dwarka on Thursday 11 October 2012 under the aegis of DPS society. DPS Indirapuram participated in Russian Art of Painting, Quiz on Russia, Russian Dance Competition, Russian Poetry Recitation Competition and Russian Group Song Competition.
  • DPS Indirapuram got the 2nd Position in Poetry Recitation Competition and 2nd position in Group Song Competition.
  • DPS Society organized a Russian Festival on Wednesday 3 Aug 2011, in which DPS Indirapuram participated in Competitions like Painting and Decorating Nesting Dolls, Painting, Hand Writing, Group Song and Group Dance Competitions and Display of Russian Exhibits. It won 1stposition in Painting and Decorating Nesting Dolls & 2nd position in Group Dance Competition.
  • It was a matter of great pride that DPS Indirapuram was the only school to be selected to represent the Country at IX International Summer School of Russian Language organized from 6th – 8th July , 2011. 5 Students along with the Russian Language Teacher, Ms. Archana Saxena formed the Indian Delegation at the event.
  • The Department of Education, Government of Moscow organized VIII International Summer School of Russian language – for foreign School children from 6 to 28 July 2010 in Moscow. 3 Students Tarang Matia, Sagarika Chakraborty and Aishani Majumdar were selected to participate in this Summer School.
  • Achievements:
  • Sagarika Chakraborty got the 1st position in the Olympiad on Russian language. A special trip to the city of Klin was arranged for her. She also got 1st position in International bonding games.
  • Tarang Matia along with her group got 1st position in National Games and 3rd position in Dance Concert.
  • Aishani Majumdar got the Certificate for being the most Creative Participant in her group.
  • An all India Russian Language Olympiad was organized on 12 April, 2007 at Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi. A seminar cum-presentation “On the golden Jubilee of Space Era” dedicated to International Day of AVIONICS and a Cosmonautics and Russian achievement in space exploration was organized. Student of class X Parth Khurana won 3rd position in the Olympiad. To bring out languages from textbooks and make it lively and interesting, Russian Day was celebrated on Aug 17, 2005 at our school premises. The anchoring, programme card, invitation card were all bilingual. The Head of the Centre of SLL JNU, Prof. R. Kumar was the Chief Guest and Mr. S.V. Cherkas, Head; RCSC was the Guest of Honour.

 

SANSKRIT LANGUAGE

Sanskrit Language programme was introduced in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 along with the seven foreign Language Programme.

Sanskrit language programme is prescribed for classes IV to X.

Since 2003, Sanskrit Language Department has been participating in Shloka Recitation Competitions, Enactment of Sanskrit Plays, Making Advertisements in Sanskrit, Calligraphy, Sanskrit Song Competition Quiz, Story Writing Competition and other Competitions organized by Iskcon Temple .

On 22nd Dec 2015, DPS Indirapuram participated in Sanskrit Debate Competition held at DPS R.K.Puram and won the 1st and 2nd prize for the same. They received “The Best Team Trophy” for their performance.
Our School participated in Sholka Recitation Competition held at Father Agnel School on 27th July 2015 and won the 1st prize.

DPS Indirapuram participated in Sanskrit Song Competition held at G.D. Goneka Public School and won the 2nd prize.

In accordance with the CBSE Directives, Sanskrit Week was organized from 7th to 13th August 2014. DPS Indirapuram’s student, Arunopriya Dey, from class Xth secured the third position in Dehradhun region in the Essay Writing Competition. She received a Certificate, Medal and a Cash prize of Rs. 2000/- from the HRD Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani.

On 30th Oct 2013 our school participated in the “Sanskrit Pratibha Khoj Pratiyogita” held at DPS, NTPC, Vidyut Nagar and won the 2nd prize.

DPS Indirapuram participated in Shloka Recitation Competition on 30th August 2013 at DPS Faridabad and won the 3rd prize.

An Inter School Shloka Recitation Competition was organized by Bal Bharti School on 4th May 2013. D.P.S. Indirapuram got the 2nd position in this event.

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in Stuti Gayan Competiton at Hillwoods Academy on 3rd November 2012 and won the 1st prize in the Competition.

D.P.S. Mathura Road organized an Inter School Sanskrit Festival on 23rd August 2012. Our school participated in events like Shloka-Recitation, Poster Making and Slogan Writing and was awarded the 1st prize in Shloka-Recitation Competition and 1st prize in Poster Making Competition. Our School also won the Overall Trophy,

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in Shloka Competition at Bal Bharti Public School and got the 1st prize in this Competition.

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in Inter-School Talent Meet on 13th December 2008 at D.P.S. Rohini. Children presented ‘Bhavanritya Pratiyogita’ based on ‘Geet Govindam’ and got the Second position. Children presented a song in Sanskrit with Dance and Enactment.

Our school participated in Shloka Recitation and Quiz Competition at Iskcon Temple on 4th December 2008 and got the 2nd prize in the Competition.

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in ‘Sanskrit Shloka Gayan Pratiyogita’ on 31st January 2007 organized by Vishva Bharti Public School for the Dhanwati Shambhunath Ambardar Award. 15 Schools participated in the same. D.P.S. Indirapuram got the 2nd position and over all ‘Chal Vaijayanti Trophy’ in this Competition.

D.P.S. Indirapuram hosted the First ‘Inter D.P.S. Sanskrit Festival’ on 16th January 2006. 14 D.P.S. Schools participated in this festival. Children presented plays, Songs, Dances and Shloka Recitation in the Sanskrit Language.

 

SPANISH LANGUAGE

Spanish is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and is used as an official language by the European Union and many other international organizations.
Spanish was introduced in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 as one of the foreign languages under the Seven Foreign Language Formula.
Presently we have more than 534 students and 3 teachers of this language in our School.
Achievements:

  • Increasing number of students, opting Spanish as 3rd or 2nd language itself shows the rising popularity of this language among the students.

    Activities:
  • Students are invited for the Cultural programmes, movie shows and other activities at Instituto Cervantes from time to time.
  • Students participated in the Essay Writing activity on the topic of Women Empowerment at Instituto Cervantes.
  • Students also visited the Juan Ramon Jiménez Library of the Institute.

 

CHINESE LANGUAGE

  • Chinese language programme started in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 under the Seven Foreign Language formula. Since then, the programme has been getting an enthusiastic response from not only students but also parents who want their wards to opt for the Chinese language. More and more parents come with queries on the course and its contents.
  • The number of students since 2003 has witnessed an increase every year and in the current academic year there are around 100 students learning this language.
  • To promote the interest of the students in the Chinese language, the school has a specialized Chinese language Lab.
  • In view of the increasing demand of Chinese Language in the curriculum, CBSE took the initiative for promotion of Chinese Language. CBSE in collaboration with Hanban, China invited native Chinese teachers to teach in Indian schools. Under this programme, Tian Liping was the visting Chinese faculty for DPS Indirapuram for a period of 2yrs. Students of DPS Indirapuram gained a lot from her visit to India. Under her guidance, various activities were conducted in the class, like making of Chinese Knot, Paper cutting, writing with the help of Chinese Paint brush.
  • Under this Programme, DPS Indirapuram organized a special Chinese Assembly on 9th Dec 2014. The distinguished guests for the occasion were 13 Chinese teachers from Hanban, China.The Programme started with “Ganesh Vandana” sung by Tian Liping. The highlight of the Day was the performance by the visiting Chinese teachers. The school dance troupe performed traditional Fan dance. The school Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai spoke about the enriching learning experience of the students of DPS Indirapuram gained through their interaction with Tian Liping.
  • An exhibition showcasing, famous landmarks, souvenirs and heritage monuments was organised. Students also showcased the cuisine of China. This two year programme of with the native Chinese teacher has been highly instrumental in familiarizing children with the Chinese Traditions, Society and the Cuisine.
  • Chinese language is now taught from classes IV to VIII following an articulated, engineered syllabus for different levels. This syllabus has been designed according to the levels and activities involved at various age groups. This not only includes class room teaching but also reaches out to the students in practical activities. We focus on giving students an insight into the versatility and richness of the language on the one end and better understanding of the Socio Geographical and Cultural trends on the other.
  • Audio visual sessions are also held at regular intervals to brush the skills of the students in pronunciation.
  • In the academic year 2005-06 our students enthralled the visiting Chinese delegation at DPS International School, Saket with a Chinese song performance which earned them a standing ovation by the delegates.
  • In order to enhance the teaching skills in the Chinese language, the teacher attended the JNU Outreach Programme for school teachers of foreign languages on July 30th,31st and August 6th, 7th , 8th 2004. The programme was very enriching.
  • The script of the Chinese language is unique in nature and in order to create an interest among students in the Chinese script, various activities in script writing like cutting of various characters on pastel sheet and pasting of these cuttings on glaze paper for better understanding of the characters are being done on a regular basis.
  • French language programme started in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 under the Seven Foreign Language formula.

          French is the most opted 3rd & 2nd language in the School. About 900 students are learning this language in             the Current Academic Session.
          Activities
          2012-2013

  • DPS Indirapuram in association with the College Anatole France conducted the 3rd Indo-French Exchange Programme in 2012-13. Under this Programme the students from college Anatole France visited India from 16th April to 23rd April accompanied by Ms Nadia Meddah, Principal, College Anatole France and two teachers.

          The school held a special assembly to mark the celebration of the 3rd Indo-French Exchange Programme.

  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms Pearl Jindal, President of IATF, North Zone (Association of Indian teachers of French). Other eminent guests present at the occasion were Ms Nadia Meddah, Principal of College Anatole, France and French teachers Mr. G.Vingadassamy and Mr. Romain Chierasto.
    2011-2012
  • DPS Indirapuram held a special Assembly on 27th February 2012 to celebrate the success of the 2nd Indo-French Exchange Programme.
  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Kiran Chaudhary, Chairperson, Centre of French and Francophone studies, JNU. The Guest of Honour for the day was Mr. Pierre Valde, French Prof. at Jamia Millia Islamia University. Other Eminent Guests present at the occasion were Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman DPS society. Mr Renolde Dumalte, Principal, College Anatole France and French teachers Mr. Arnaud and Mr. Romain.
    2010-2011
  • DPS Indirapuram organized the first Indo-French Exchange programme with the French College Anatole France on 20th May.
  • DPS Indirapuram hosted the visiting French delegation from 27th October to 3rd November 2010 as a part of the Indo-French Exchange Programme. The school organized a special assembly to mark its culmination on 3rd November, 2010.
  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Daniel Rignault (Attache de Cooperation Educative), Embassy of France.
  • Mr Ashok Chandra, Chairman DPS Society presided over the function. Ms Renu Mittal, Director DPS Society graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Damiaar Romonte and Mr.Ajith Kannacentre for French and Francophone studies, JNU.
    2005-2006
  • DPS Indirapuram celebrated French Day on 30th November.
  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Narendra Kumar, Chairman DPS society.
  • The Guests of Honour were Ms Anne Tual Attache de Cooperation Educative, French Embassy. Prof. Abhijit Karkun and Mr. Ajith Kanna Centre for French and Francophone studies, JNU.

         Achievements
         2015-16

  • On October 2015, DPS Indirapuram participated in Postcards from Paris organized by DPS society at DPS Rohini. Our school got the 2nd prize in Graffiti. 52 schools participated in this competition.
  • On 19th November 2015, our School competed with 38 schools and bagged the 1st prize in French Declamation.
  • On 30th January, 2015, K. R. Mangalam,Vaishali organised a Lingual Tussle and Dialogue Competition .Our school won the third prize in both the Competitions.
  • On 2ndFebruary 2016, DPS R.K.Puram held an Inter School Language Competiton “DIE KOTOBA POTPOURRI”. Our school got the 3rd position in the French TV Show.
    2014-15
  • On 3rd July 2014, Father Agnel School, Noida organized a French Competition, in which our school got the 2nd position in French Impersonation.
  • On 17th December 2014, DPS R.K. Puram organized La fete de la Francophone, in which our school got the
  • 1st position in Story Writing, 2nd position in Poetry Recitation and bagged the 1st Runners up Trrophy.
    2013-14
  • On 27th November 2013, the students of DPS Indirapuram participated in the International French Olympaid. Anant Agarwal of Class VI got the 1st position.
  • On the occasion of Frecnh Day 19th December 2013, Indus Valley School, Noida organized a French competition. Our school got the 1st position in French Poem and French Play. We also got the 2nd position in the Fancy Dress Competition.
    2012-13
  • On 24 July 2011, our school got the 2nd prize in the Dance Competition at DPS International, Saket
    Millennium Public School, Noida organized a French Competition, in which our School got the 2nd position in French Extempore.

  • On 21st and 22nd May 2011, the French students participated in DELF Exam organized by French Embassy at Alliance Francais de Delhi for A1 and A2 level. Our students scored more than 90% in the exam.
    On 24 July 2011, DPS International, Saket held an Inter School Language Competition “Post card from Paris”. Our Schools got the 2nd prize in the Dance competition and bagged the 2nd Runners up Trophy.

REPORT ON GERMAN DEPARTMENT

Ever since the School started in 2003, we have been actively participating and celebrating functions organized by DPS, Society and Max Mueller Bhavan.

  • German Day was celebrated in DPS Indirapuram on 25th January, 2005.
  • Max Mueller Bhavan in collaboration with DPS Society organized a scholarship Programme for German language teachers of DPS, in which Mrs. Kaumudi Joshi went to Schwäbischhall, Germany for 2 months in 2006 to attend a German language course.
  • In the year 2006 Max Mueller Bhavan & DPS Society had conceived a vision of starting ‘Indo-German Students’ Exchange Programme’ to foster the bond between the two countries.
    The Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi played a pivotal role and organized a meeting of a high-powered delegation of 11 educationists of Germany headed by Dr. MargetRuep, School President, Baden Württermberg, with Delhi Public School Society. This delegation from Germany stayed in India from 31st October to 12th November 2006 and was hosted by Delhi Public School Indirapuram. During their 12 days stay the delegation visited various schools in Delhi & the NCR, critically observing, analyzing and assimilating our system of education. They were particularly appreciative of DPS Indirapuram, the school Management, the Principal and the school set-up. Thus was laid the foundation of Indo-German Students Exchange Programme between DPS Indirapuram and Schloss Real Schule Gaildorf Germany. Since then, there has been no looking back and we have had 9 successful Exchange Programmes, involving 158 students and 27 teachers.
  • Our School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai visited Germany as a part of German Delegation from 7th to 14th June 2008. The aim of the visit was to familiarize delegates with the German Education System as also to give opportunity to the Principals to visit schools in Germany who already have exchange programs with their respective schools. It also gave opportunity to the school Principals to find exchange partners from the premier schools in Germany.
  • Our School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai also attended the First Principals’ Conference in South Asia in Colombo on ‘Schools: Partners for the Future: a program launched in response to an initiative by the German Foreign Minister, coordinated by the Foreign Office and Goethe Institute (Centre for Overseas Schooling) in January 2009.

 

YOUTH CAMPS

Our students have regularly participated in the youth camps organized by Max Müller Bhavan since 2009.

  • Arastoo Joshi was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp at St. Peter Ording, Germany in August 2015 on a fully paid scholarship.
  • Mahika Vajpeyi was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp at St. Peter's Ording, Germany 24th May 2015 to 13th June 2015 organised by Max Mueller Bhawan.
  • Ayush Garg was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp at St. Peter's Ording, Germany (3rd August 2014 to 16th August 2014) organised by Max Mueller Bhawan
  • Shobhit Jain student of class XI was selected to participate in an International Youth Camp organized by Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan from 21st July to 4th August, 2013 at Schwäbischhal, Germany.
  • Sneha Arora attended an International Youth Camp from 7th July 2013 to 27th July 2013 at Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Seven students of class IX attended a Youth Camp at TERI Resort near Faridabad from 28th June to 2nd July, 2013.
  • Kalika Maheshwari of class X attended an International Youth Camp from 4th May 2013 to 25th May, 2013 at St. Ordings near Hamburg, Germany.
  • A Youth Camp was organized in Jaipur by Max Mueller Bhavan for the toppers of Fit 1 and Fit 2 exams. Ms. MahikaVajpaye was selected to participate in this camp. Our German language teacher Ms. Kaumudi Joshi was also a part of this prestigious youth camp.
  • Devansh Mittal of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 4th August 2012 to 19th August 2012 at Dassel, Germany.
  • Trishi Kamboj of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 4th July 2010 to 24th July 2010 at Beielefeld, Germany.
  • Naman Jain and Rohan Kapoor of class X attended a Youth Camp from 21st June 2010 to 27th June 2010 in Kerala.
  • Aditya Dhingra and Arbaaz Nadim of class IX attended a Youth Camp from 22nd May 2010 to 28th May 2010 in Kerala.
  • Rohan Katyal of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 8th August 2009 to 12th August 2009 in Bangkok.
  • Neelesh Kumar Chaudhary of class XI attended a Youth Camp from 24th April 2009 to 3rd May 2009 in Himachal Pradesh.

Achievements of the German Department

  • Our School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai attended the PASCH Principal’s Conference South Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21st January to 24th January 2016.
  • Vardaan Suri and Devesh Gogia was selected to attend the German Language classes organized by Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan from 19th May 2013 to 15th June 2013 in Bangalore to prepare for higher studies in Germany. As a result both the above students are doing Mechanical Engineering from Leibniz University, Hannover.
  • DPS Indirapuram hosted a play ‘Keep Calm and #ashtag’ sponsored by Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi on Tuesday, 4th August 2015 in the school auditorium.
  • Ms. Kaumudi Joshi &Ms. Prerna Sharma attended an International PASCH conference for the German language teachers on 9th& 10th October 2015.
  • Areeba Abrar, Anshika Batra and Ananya Tiwari got third prize in Graffiti Competition organized by Max Mueller Bhavan (Namaste Deutschland 2015).
  • Rishi Maheshwari of class VIII got first prize in the Poetry Recitation Competition organized by Max Mueller Bhavan (Namaste Deutschland 2014).
  • From 21st December 2013 to 28th December 2013, our German language teacher Ms. Kaumudi Joshi went to Sri Lanka to attend an International youth camp organized by Goethe Institute Colombo.
  • Pritika Vajpeyi of class IV- A got 2nd prize in the Inter School Character Dramatization Competition held at DPS Faridabad on 30th August 2013.
  • The Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan organized a German Film Festival on 15th April 2013 in our school auditorium.
  • An International online quiz was organized by DPS Society and Max Mueller Bhavan in November 2012. Over 4000 students from different schools from various countries registered for this quiz. Out of 150 students, who made to the final merit list 6 students of DPS Indirapuram (out of 17 registered) were the proud recipients of the honour. To add another feather to our glorious cap, our 5 students were amongst the top 20 students.
  • Ms. Kaumudi Joshi, our German language teacher went to Japan to attend a Youth Camp organized by Goethe Institute Tokyo, from 25th March 2012 to 2nd April 2012.
  • An International online quiz was organized by DPS Society and Max Mueller Bhavan in January 2012. Over 2000 students from various schools from five countries registered for the quiz. 11 students from DPS Indirapuram made it to the final merit list. Our student Devesh Gogia was amongst the top 10 students amongst the meritorious top 150. This outstanding achievement won him a place in the five days youth camp. These students also got the opportunity to witness ‘Audi-football Summit’ between India and Bayern Muenchen held on 10th January 2012.
  • Our school team had also participated in ‘Greening with Goethe’ on a project on uprooting a parasitic plant’s infestation around the school in 2011. The school’s efforts were lauded internationally and it received Commendation Award from UNESCO, for the contribution towards ‘The Decade of Education for Sustainable Development’.

 

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Russian Centre of Science and Culture organized “Days of Russian language Literature and Culture on February 4th, 2016 devoted to the year of cinematography in Russia. Our children participated in Translation Competition, Quiz on Russian Culture and Poetry Recitation Competition. Our School won 3rd Prize in Poetry Recitation Competition.

DPS society organized Annual Inter school “Festival Beryoza 2015” on 20th Nov 2015. DPS Indirapuram also participated in various competitive and non-competitive events.

We won: 2nd position in Russian Duet Song Competition.

  • 2nd position in Russian Language Olympiad.
  • 2nd position in Choral Poetry Recitation Competition.
  • 2nd position in Essay Writing Competition.
  • 2nd position in Poster Making Competition (Senior category).
  • 3rd position in Poster making Competition (Junior Category).

          DPS society organized Annual Inter school “Festival Beryoza 2014”. This event was hosted by DPS Dwarka on           19th Nov’14. DPS Indirapuram won:

  • 1st position in Poetry Recitation Competition.
  • 1st position in Russian Group Song Competition.
  • 3rd position in Russian Painting Competition.
  • 3rd position in Russian Art Competition.

          To showcase the language skills of students and explore the Russian culture, the Delhi Public School Society organized Annual International School Russian Language Festival Beryoza 2013” on 3rd October 2013. DPS Indirapuram won:

  • 2nd Runner’s up Trophy in Russian Poetry Recitation Competition.
  • 1st runner’s up Trophy in Perevod (Translation) Competition.
  • Russian Centre of Science and Culture organized “Days of Russian language & literature” from Feb 19th to 20th 2014. DPS Indirapuram won Ist position in Quiz on Russian Language.
  • An Annual Interschool Russian Language Festival was organized by DPS Dwarka on Thursday 11 October 2012 under the aegis of DPS society. DPS Indirapuram participated in Russian Art of Painting, Quiz on Russia, Russian Dance Competition, Russian Poetry Recitation Competition and Russian Group Song Competition.
  • DPS Indirapuram got the 2nd Position in Poetry Recitation Competition and 2nd position in Group Song Competition.
  • DPS Society organized a Russian Festival on Wednesday 3 Aug 2011, in which DPS Indirapuram participated in Competitions like Painting and Decorating Nesting Dolls, Painting, Hand Writing, Group Song and Group Dance Competitions and Display of Russian Exhibits. It won 1stposition in Painting and Decorating Nesting Dolls & 2nd position in Group Dance Competition.
  • It was a matter of great pride that DPS Indirapuram was the only school to be selected to represent the Country at IX International Summer School of Russian Language organized from 6th – 8th July , 2011. 5 Students along with the Russian Language Teacher, Ms. Archana Saxena formed the Indian Delegation at the event.
  • The Department of Education, Government of Moscow organized VIII International Summer School of Russian language – for foreign School children from 6 to 28 July 2010 in Moscow. 3 Students Tarang Matia, Sagarika Chakraborty and Aishani Majumdar were selected to participate in this Summer School.
  • Achievements:
  • Sagarika Chakraborty got the 1st position in the Olympiad on Russian language. A special trip to the city of Klin was arranged for her. She also got 1st position in International bonding games.
  • Tarang Matia along with her group got 1st position in National Games and 3rd position in Dance Concert.
  • Aishani Majumdar got the Certificate for being the most Creative Participant in her group.
  • An all India Russian Language Olympiad was organized on 12 April, 2007 at Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi. A seminar cum-presentation “On the golden Jubilee of Space Era” dedicated to International Day of AVIONICS and a Cosmonautics and Russian achievement in space exploration was organized. Student of class X Parth Khurana won 3rd position in the Olympiad. To bring out languages from textbooks and make it lively and interesting, Russian Day was celebrated on Aug 17, 2005 at our school premises. The anchoring, programme card, invitation card were all bilingual. The Head of the Centre of SLL JNU, Prof. R. Kumar was the Chief Guest and Mr. S.V. Cherkas, Head; RCSC was the Guest of Honour.

 

SANSKRIT LANGUAGE

Sanskrit Language programme was introduced in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 along with the seven foreign Language Programme.

Sanskrit language programme is prescribed for classes IV to X.

Since 2003, Sanskrit Language Department has been participating in Shloka Recitation Competitions, Enactment of Sanskrit Plays, Making Advertisements in Sanskrit, Calligraphy, Sanskrit Song Competition Quiz, Story Writing Competition and other Competitions organized by Iskcon Temple .

On 22nd Dec 2015, DPS Indirapuram participated in Sanskrit Debate Competition held at DPS R.K.Puram and won the 1st and 2nd prize for the same. They received “The Best Team Trophy” for their performance.
Our School participated in Sholka Recitation Competition held at Father Agnel School on 27th July 2015 and won the 1st prize.

DPS Indirapuram participated in Sanskrit Song Competition held at G.D. Goneka Public School and won the 2nd prize.

In accordance with the CBSE Directives, Sanskrit Week was organized from 7th to 13th August 2014. DPS Indirapuram’s student, Arunopriya Dey, from class Xth secured the third position in Dehradhun region in the Essay Writing Competition. She received a Certificate, Medal and a Cash prize of Rs. 2000/- from the HRD Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani.

On 30th Oct 2013 our school participated in the “Sanskrit Pratibha Khoj Pratiyogita” held at DPS, NTPC, Vidyut Nagar and won the 2nd prize.

DPS Indirapuram participated in Shloka Recitation Competition on 30th August 2013 at DPS Faridabad and won the 3rd prize.

An Inter School Shloka Recitation Competition was organized by Bal Bharti School on 4th May 2013. D.P.S. Indirapuram got the 2nd position in this event.

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in Stuti Gayan Competiton at Hillwoods Academy on 3rd November 2012 and won the 1st prize in the Competition.

D.P.S. Mathura Road organized an Inter School Sanskrit Festival on 23rd August 2012. Our school participated in events like Shloka-Recitation, Poster Making and Slogan Writing and was awarded the 1st prize in Shloka-Recitation Competition and 1st prize in Poster Making Competition. Our School also won the Overall Trophy,

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in Shloka Competition at Bal Bharti Public School and got the 1st prize in this Competition.

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in Inter-School Talent Meet on 13th December 2008 at D.P.S. Rohini. Children presented ‘Bhavanritya Pratiyogita’ based on ‘Geet Govindam’ and got the Second position. Children presented a song in Sanskrit with Dance and Enactment.

Our school participated in Shloka Recitation and Quiz Competition at Iskcon Temple on 4th December 2008 and got the 2nd prize in the Competition.

D.P.S. Indirapuram participated in ‘Sanskrit Shloka Gayan Pratiyogita’ on 31st January 2007 organized by Vishva Bharti Public School for the Dhanwati Shambhunath Ambardar Award. 15 Schools participated in the same. D.P.S. Indirapuram got the 2nd position and over all ‘Chal Vaijayanti Trophy’ in this Competition.

D.P.S. Indirapuram hosted the First ‘Inter D.P.S. Sanskrit Festival’ on 16th January 2006. 14 D.P.S. Schools participated in this festival. Children presented plays, Songs, Dances and Shloka Recitation in the Sanskrit Language.

 

SPANISH LANGUAGE

Spanish is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and is used as an official language by the European Union and many other international organizations.
Spanish was introduced in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 as one of the foreign languages under the Seven Foreign Language Formula.
Presently we have more than 534 students and 3 teachers of this language in our School.
Achievements:

  • Increasing number of students, opting Spanish as 3rd or 2nd language itself shows the rising popularity of this language among the students.

  • Students participated in the Essay Writing activity on the topic of Women Empowerment at Instituto Cervantes.
  • Students also visited the Juan Ramon Jiménez Library of the Institute.

 

CHINESE LANGUAGE

  • Chinese language programme started in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 under the Seven Foreign Language formula. Since then, the programme has been getting an enthusiastic response from not only students but also parents who want their wards to opt for the Chinese language. More and more parents come with queries on the course and its contents.
  • The number of students since 2003 has witnessed an increase every year and in the current academic year there are around 100 students learning this language.
  • To promote the interest of the students in the Chinese language, the school has a specialized Chinese language Lab.
  • In view of the increasing demand of Chinese Language in the curriculum, CBSE took the initiative for promotion of Chinese Language. CBSE in collaboration with Hanban, China invited native Chinese teachers to teach in Indian schools. Under this programme, Tian Liping was the visting Chinese faculty for DPS Indirapuram for a period of 2yrs. Students of DPS Indirapuram gained a lot from her visit to India. Under her guidance, various activities were conducted in the class, like making of Chinese Knot, Paper cutting, writing with the help of Chinese Paint brush.
  • Under this Programme, DPS Indirapuram organized a special Chinese Assembly on 9th Dec 2014. The distinguished guests for the occasion were 13 Chinese teachers from Hanban, China.The Programme started with “Ganesh Vandana” sung by Tian Liping. The highlight of the Day was the performance by the visiting Chinese teachers. The school dance troupe performed traditional Fan dance. The school Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai spoke about the enriching learning experience of the students of DPS Indirapuram gained through their interaction with Tian Liping.
  • An exhibition showcasing, famous landmarks, souvenirs and heritage monuments was organised. Students also showcased the cuisine of China. This two year programme of with the native Chinese teacher has been highly instrumental in familiarizing children with the Chinese Traditions, Society and the Cuisine.
  • Chinese language is now taught from classes IV to VIII following an articulated, engineered syllabus for different levels. This syllabus has been designed according to the levels and activities involved at various age groups. This not only includes class room teaching but also reaches out to the students in practical activities. We focus on giving students an insight into the versatility and richness of the language on the one end and better understanding of the Socio Geographical and Cultural trends on the other.
  • Audio visual sessions are also held at regular intervals to brush the skills of the students in pronunciation.
  • In the academic year 2005-06 our students enthralled the visiting Chinese delegation at DPS International School, Saket with a Chinese song performance which earned them a standing ovation by the delegates.
  • In order to enhance the teaching skills in the Chinese language, the teacher attended the JNU Outreach Programme for school teachers of foreign languages on July 30th,31st and August 6th, 7th , 8th 2004. The programme was very enriching.
  • The script of the Chinese language is unique in nature and in order to create an interest among students in the Chinese script, various activities in script writing like cutting of various characters on pastel sheet and pasting of these cuttings on glaze paper for better understanding of the characters are being done on a regular basis.
  • French language programme started in DPS Indirapuram in 2003 under the Seven Foreign Language formula.

          French is the most opted 3rd & 2nd language in the School. About 900 students are learning this language in             the Current Academic Session.
          Activities
          2012-2013

  • DPS Indirapuram in association with the College Anatole France conducted the 3rd Indo-French Exchange Programme in 2012-13. Under this Programme the students from college Anatole France visited India from 16th April to 23rd April accompanied by Ms Nadia Meddah, Principal, College Anatole France and two teachers.

          The school held a special assembly to mark the celebration of the 3rd Indo-French Exchange Programme.

  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms Pearl Jindal, President of IATF, North Zone (Association of Indian teachers of French). Other eminent guests present at the occasion were Ms Nadia Meddah, Principal of College Anatole, France and French teachers Mr. G.Vingadassamy and Mr. Romain Chierasto.

  • DPS Indirapuram held a special Assembly on 27th February 2012 to celebrate the success of the 2nd Indo-French Exchange Programme.
  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Kiran Chaudhary, Chairperson, Centre of French and Francophone studies, JNU. The Guest of Honour for the day was Mr. Pierre Valde, French Prof. at Jamia Millia Islamia University. Other Eminent Guests present at the occasion were Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman DPS society. Mr Renolde Dumalte, Principal, College Anatole France and French teachers Mr. Arnaud and Mr. Romain.

  • DPS Indirapuram organized the first Indo-French Exchange programme with the French College Anatole France on 20th May.
  • DPS Indirapuram hosted the visiting French delegation from 27th October to 3rd November 2010 as a part of the Indo-French Exchange Programme. The school organized a special assembly to mark its culmination on 3rd November, 2010.
  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Daniel Rignault (Attache de Cooperation Educative), Embassy of France.
  • Mr Ashok Chandra, Chairman DPS Society presided over the function. Ms Renu Mittal, Director DPS Society graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Damiaar Romonte and Mr.Ajith Kannacentre for French and Francophone studies, JNU.

  • DPS Indirapuram celebrated French Day on 30th November.
  • The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Narendra Kumar, Chairman DPS society.
  • The Guests of Honour were Ms Anne Tual Attache de Cooperation Educative, French Embassy. Prof. Abhijit Karkun and Mr. Ajith Kanna Centre for French and Francophone studies, JNU.

         Achievements
         2015-16

  • On October 2015, DPS Indirapuram participated in Postcards from Paris organized by DPS society at DPS Rohini. Our school got the 2nd prize in Graffiti. 52 schools participated in this competition.
  • On 19th November 2015, our School competed with 38 schools and bagged the 1st prize in French Declamation.
  • On 30th January, 2015, K. R. Mangalam,Vaishali organised a Lingual Tussle and Dialogue Competition .Our school won the third prize in both the Competitions.
  • On 2ndFebruary 2016, DPS R.K.Puram held an Inter School Language Competiton “DIE KOTOBA POTPOURRI”. Our school got the 3rd position in the French TV Show.
    2014-15
  • On 3rd July 2014, Father Agnel School, Noida organized a French Competition, in which our school got the 2nd position in French Impersonation.
  • On 17th December 2014, DPS R.K. Puram organized La fete de la Francophone, in which our school got the
  • 1st position in Story Writing, 2nd position in Poetry Recitation and bagged the 1st Runners up Trrophy.
    2013-14
  • On 27th November 2013, the students of DPS Indirapuram participated in the International French Olympaid. Anant Agarwal of Class VI got the 1st position.
  • On the occasion of Frecnh Day 19th December 2013, Indus Valley School, Noida organized a French competition. Our school got the 1st position in French Poem and French Play. We also got the 2nd position in the Fancy Dress Competition.
    2012-13
  • On 24 July 2011, our school got the 2nd prize in the Dance Competition at DPS International, Saket
    Millennium Public School, Noida organized a French Competition, in which our School got the 2nd position in French Extempore.
    2010-11
  • On 21st and 22nd May 2011, the French students participated in DELF Exam organized by French Embassy at Alliance Francais de Delhi for A1 and A2 level. Our students scored more than 90% in the exam.
    On 24 July 2011, DPS International, Saket held an Inter School Language Competition “Post card from Paris”. Our Schools got the 2nd prize in the Dance competition and bagged the 2nd Runners up Trophy.

  • From 13- 16 February 2013, French teachers attended an Educational Workshop conducted by Indian Association of Teachers of French. Le français en Asie Pacifique: La passion et la raison at Chennai, India.
  • From 09-10 December2011, French teachers attended a seminar at JNU. It was the FOURTH NATIONAL ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS.
  • On15 November 2010, French Teachers of DPS Indirapuram participated in an Educational Workshop conducted by DPS Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
