Regardless of which hobby we choose, the benefits of engaging in that hobby will surely surprise us. It is a means of self discovery, helps to develop social skills, nurtures creativity, ensures cognitive development and physical well being. Hobbies create skills and a passion for something that provide the foundation for a future career. For example, gardening can teach plant physiology &amp; ecology. The various hobby clubs at DPSI aims at giving a platform to help students explore their passion and hone their skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As parents, it is our utmost responsibility to nurture our children\u2019s hobbies. Here are certain pointers that one should follow: Observe the child\u2019s interests and identify his\/her strengths, introduce them to sports, music, theatre, arts, drama, gardening, reading and others to see what special skills or talents he or she might have, give them space, a safe environment and equipment, respect their choices and celebrate their achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A hobby if practiced well can be an asset.
