Delhi Public School Indirapuram joined hands with the Ghaziabad Development Authority and several other schools of the district to voice their solidarity over protection and preservation of the planet by participating in the Green Rally. The Green Rally held on 22nd April’2018 was a mega event wherein ten thousand students marched on the newly built Hindon Elevated road.
DPS Indirapuram made its contribution with a delegation of 200 students and 35 teachers who participated with an objective to lay special emphasis on effective waste management and adoption of a sustainable lifestyle. The event was completely in sync with this this year’s theme, which according to Earth Day Network is dedicated to spreading awareness about the pollution caused by plastic and the need to eventually end its use
The Honorable Chief Guest Ms. Ritu Maheswari, District Magistrate Ghaziabad marked the beginning of the rally by flagging off the enthusiastic participants, adorned in their white T shirts and caps which declared their motto of effective waste management. Honored Guest Mr. Anil Agarwal, Member Rajya Sabha, in his speech, appreciated the Ghaziabad Development Authority for organizing this grand event and also congratulated all the residents of Ghaziabad for adopting healthier habits in the recent past that have made their district cleaner and greener. He reinstated the aim of the event by making the students realize that their small contribution in saving the environment will slowly but surely bring a change in the pollution level of the country. Such a mass participation is truly a testimony of the youth’s growing concern over environmental issues and DPS Indirapuram left no stone unturned in ensuring that awareness is created for active Waste Management.
