DPS Indirapuram organizes Farewell 2018

DPS Indirapuram organized a farewell function for the students of Class XII on January 31^st, 2018. The programme commenced with a grand welcome by the students of Class XI, who ushered the outgoing batch of Class XII students into an artistically adorned school auditorium, dazzling with fairy lights and satin embellishments.

The School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai extended a warm welcome to the honoured guests, Mrs. Nidhi Bansal, Member, Managing Committee, Pacific World School and Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyay, Principal, DPS R.N. Extension. She spoke with great fervor, exhorting the students to work hard for the best results, and blessed them for a brilliant future. The school Vice Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Hajela, also wished the students and took them down the memory lane with a poignant self-composed Hindi poem reminiscing the light hearted moments of school life from classroom pranks to canteen capers.

A short film on the fond memories of school life filled the entire audience with nostalgia. A melodious rendition by the School Council Members of the ‘Songs of Friendship’, accompanied by the soul stirring voice of the School Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai, set the mood for the day.

A dance drama -- ’The happiest days of my life…’ -- showcasing the fun-filled, carefree years spent at school, portraying the entire gamut of emotions ranging from the cheerful bonhomie of the growing up years, to the anxious moments before examinations, and further, to the euphoria in the moments after achievement mesmerized the audience. A heart touching tribute by Vanshika Kwatra, the School Head Girl, and a hilarious parody by Eashan Raj Punia, the School Head Boy, touched many an emotional chord.

Then came the most awaited event of the day -- the ramp walk by the vibrant, dazzling and radiant boys and girls who won the hearts of all. The esteemed judges for the day were Mrs. Nidhi Bansal, Member Managing Committee, Pacific world School and Mrs. Seema Kaur, Headmistress DPS Indirapuram. The ‘Best Dressed Boy’ citation was awarded to Tanish Bansal, while Tanya Gupta bagged the ‘Best Dressed Girl’ award. The ‘Mr. Talented’ title was shared by Aditya Ojha and Ansh Aggarwal, while Aashna Mittal was awarded the title of ‘Ms. Talented’. Archana Nair, Manvi Sharma, Nishtha Sehgal, Pranav Pujari, Yeshu Pandey, Siddhant Pandey, Rachit Jain and Anshul won awards for their talent on the basis of popular choice. Eashan Raj Punia was awarded a certificate of special appreciation for his drive and initiative to organize events as the Head boy.

Special prizes were awarded to 26 students for their outstanding talents and achievements in various fields. The ‘Best All Rounder’ award went to Akshat Shukla, Malvika Agarwal, Vanshika Kwatra, Archita Zutshi, Shreya Srivastava and Archit Chakraborty. The title of ‘Mr. DPS’ was awarded to Ayush Garg, while ‘Ms. DPS’ title was shared by Antargun Kaur Bhatia and Arushi Bhowmick. All the winners were honoured in a glittering ceremony on the stage.  

The Valedictory Function was followed by the cake cutting ceremony. The students took to the dance floor thereafter, rejoicing and celebrating the moments of togetherness. The programme concluded with bonding and tete-a-tete over tea and snacks.
