Workshop on Developing Effective Study Skills

Delhi Public School Indirapuram in association with Study Vault organized a workshop on ‘Effective Study Skills’ for the students of classes VII to XII. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Jyotsna Bhardwaj, a renowned Career Counsellor and focused on developing proper learning patterns and a positive attitude to ensure success in life.

Ms. Jyotsna Bhardwaj engaged the children thoroughly frequently questioning them about their learning habits and preferences. Providing simple but effective solutions to learning impediments, like planning one’s work, maintaining an organized work area and prioritizing the work, she urged the children to adhere to realistic timetables and work out a proper estimation of time. Ms. Bhardwaj showed the students a few informative PowerPoint presentations depicting the Cone of learning. Delineating the various steps to effective learning and retention she emphasized on the various facets, reading, audio visual stimulus, demonstration, discussion, practice and teaching others.

She further entreated the children to have a positive approach and correct attitude towards studies and equip themselves with the necessary supplies for work. The workshop was a truly enriching experience for the students as they learnt how to analyse their own study patterns and work towards improving them, thereby enhancing their ability and efficiency.
