Delhi Public School Indirapuram held an Inter-House Quiz Competition for the students of classes VII to XI on 20th November, 2018. The quiz was organized by the Quiz Club members of the school. The session was attended by the school Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai, Vice-Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Hajela and the Headmistress Mrs. Priya John.

In her address the school Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai urged the students to read the newspaper daily in order to enhance their general knowledge and increase their awareness about current affairs. Lauding the efforts of the Quiz Club members, teacher incharges, Ms. Savita Gupta and Dr. Kavya and the House Coordinator, Mr. Aslam Ali Khan, she expressed her belief that the session would indeed be an intensive and enriching one.

Students from the Five Houses of the school, Ganges, Raavi, Jhelum, Chenab and Yamuna participated in the quiz. The five teams representing the five houses, comprised four members each. The quiz master for the event was Dhanush Pathania, a class XII Student of the school and the winner of the Kriti Joshi Star Anchor Award 2018. The session commenced with a stimulating video on the essence of quizzing. The quiz master familiarized the teams with the rules of every round thereafter.

The quiz had a total of six rounds. The first round was ‘Connect the Theme’, wherein teams had to identify the connection between a set of images displayed on the screen. This was followed by the visual and audio rounds. The fourth round, ‘My House, My Question’ was a special round where the House Wardens joined their respective teams to answer the question posed by the quiz master. The fifth round was the ‘Clue Round’ and the sixth one the ‘Rapid Fire Round’ which witnessed a lot of energy, excitement and adrenalin rush. Every round was followed by a question for the audience, to ensure mass participation and sustain general interest.

The highlight of the session was a special round for the school Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai, Vice Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Hajela and Head Mistress Mrs. Priya John, wherein they were posed questions by the quiz master and felicitated for giving correct answers.

There was a lot of excitement amongst the students as they supported their respective houses, motivating the participants with loud cheering and applause. The first prize was bagged by Ganges House, while Jhelum House came second. A slogan writing competition was held simultaneously in which Chenab House was adjudged the winner by the School Principal.

The session proved to be a very enervating one providing the students with a suitable platform to test their general knowledge and broaden their intellectual horizons
